Tianzhu Mountain Forest Park is about 36 kilometers away from Xiamen urban area. It is a lush and green leisure area. Some local people like to come here to climb mountains and get close to nature in their spare time. It is known as the “back garden of Xiamen”.
There are three main lakes in the park, namely Haoyue Lake and Liang’er Lake in the west, and Tianzhu Lake in the east. The green mountains by the lake are reflected in the water, presenting a beautiful scenery.
Since the east and west sides are quite far apart and the scenery differences are not significant, visitors generally choose to visit one side. Among them, Zhenji Temple and Baizhu Garden are located on the east side, and Tianzhu Post, where you can fish, dine and drink tea, is near the west gate.
Self-driving vehicles are not allowed to enter the scenic area. Therefore, when visiting, you can either climb the mountain on foot or take the traffic vehicle in the scenic area (30 yuan for the whole journey). The tour usually takes about half a day to a whole day.
Opening hours: It is open from 08:00 – 17:30 from June 1st to October 31st; and from 08:30 – 17:00 from November 1st to May 31st.
Preferential policies: Children: Free for children under 1.2 meters (inclusive) in height. Seniors: Free for seniors over 70 years old (exclusive) with a senior citizen ID card.
