Taiqing Palace is located on Zengshan, in the Zengcuoan Village of Xiamen’s Binhai Street. It is nestled between mountains and facing the sea, with two mountains embracing it as if in a fairyland. The Zengshan Tianhou Palace was originally built during the Ming Dynasty and was once a grand place of worship with thriving incense and a large scale, where Taoist priests would seclude themselves to cultivate internal alchemy.
Today, the Taiqing Palace covers an area of about 7225 square meters, with a construction area of 1886 square meters. It includes the main hall, Zhai Sheng Lou, Yuanchen Cave, and Lvzu Cave, as well as a dining hall, guest rooms, and planned constructions such as the Sanqing Hall and the Jade Emperor Hall, all配套设施 for Taoist activities. The main building adheres to the layout format of the Five Elements and Bagua, with the outer wall primarily in yellow, reflecting Taoism’s veneration of the central yellow concept. Deities such as the Supreme Old Lord, Jade Emperor, Heavenly Emperor, Doumu Yuanjun, Mazu, and Lvzu are worshipped according to Taoist rituals, with the foundation of good deeds and the application of cultivation.
