Chengyi Science and Technology Exploration Center Introduction

Chengyi Science and Technology Exploration Center is a national 4A scenic spot, a popular science experience base for China’s aerospace industry, a national marine popular science education base, a popular science education base in Xiamen, and a research and practice education base for primary and secondary school students in Fujian Province.
It is located at No. 339, Xinglinwan Road, Jimei District. The exterior of the whole building is in the modern Jiageng style. The center has a total of 5 floors, 4 above ground and 1 underground. It consists of a main exhibition hall and 2 special theaters (X-Flight Space-Time Adventure Special Theater and Happy Hour Journey Special Theater). There are 2 theme restaurants on the first basement floor.


Centered around the four themes of “aerospace, navigation, earthquake prevention and disaster reduction, and night science and technology tour”, Chengyi Science and Technology Exploration Center has seven exhibition areas, namely the “Dream Launch Station” exhibition area, the “Interstellar Exploration” exhibition area, the “Aviation Laboratory” exhibition area, the “Navigation Laboratory” exhibition area, the “Finding Nemo” exhibition area, the “Xiamen Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Reduction Popular Science Education Base” exhibition area, and the “Blue Dream” exhibition area.


The Dream Launch Station exhibition area on the first floor is specially customized for children with a mini science and technology theme exploration park, and a wonderful ball world has been newly launched. The “Shadow Power” light and shadow exhibition on the second floor uses advanced technological means to take you into a fantasy world composed of light and shadow.


The third floor of the exhibition area contains four exhibition areas, showing the application and principles of technologies in various fields of “going into space and diving into the sea”, allowing you to directly experience the path of building a strong science and technology country.


The Xiamen Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Reduction Popular Science Education Base on the fourth floor enables tourists to learn disaster prevention and avoidance knowledge and master practical emergency self-rescue skills in an entertaining way.


Opening hours:


From December 1st to January 27th, it is open on Saturdays from 09:30 to 21:00; from December 1st to January 27th, it is open on Tuesdays – Fridays and Sundays from 09:30 to 17:00; from December 1st to January 27th, it is closed all day on Mondays; it is closed all day on January 28th; it is open from 09:30 to 21:00 on February 1st; from February 2nd to March 31st, it is open on Saturdays from 09:30 to 21:00; from February 2nd to March 31st, it is open on Tuesdays – Fridays and Sundays from 09:30 to 17:00; from January 29th to January 31st, it is open on Tuesdays – Fridays and Sundays from 09:30 to 17:00; from February 2nd to March 31st, it is closed all day on Mondays. In case of the closure of the Science Exploration Wonderful Night, the business hours end at 17:00.


Preferential policies:


Children under 1.25 meters (excluding) in height (accompanied by an adult, 1 adult is only allowed to accompany 1 child under 1.25 meters) are free; children under 90 cm in height are free of charge for the theater. Children over 90 cm and under 1.25 m need to buy theater tickets on site.


Individuals over 25 meters tall or aged 16 and above can purchase preferential tickets with a student ID, ID card, or household registration book for 45 yuan per person.


Elderly individuals: Those aged 65 and above enjoy free admission to the main exhibition hall; those aged 60-64 can enter the main hall at a preferential price of 45 yuan per person.


People with disabilities: Free admission to the main exhibition hall with relevant identification documents.


Retired cadres: Free admission to the main exhibition hall with relevant identification documents.


Active military personnel: Free admission to the main exhibition hall with relevant identification documents.


Teachers: Half-price preferential tickets can be purchased with a personal teacher’s ID.


Martyrs’ families: Free admission to the main exhibition hall with relevant identification documents.


Tourism annual card holders: Free admission to the main exhibition hall.
