Wulao Peak, originally known as Wulao Mountain, is located in the southeast corner of Xiamen, Fujian. It was designated as one of the eight scenic spots of Xiamen during the Qing Dynasty and was also selected as one of the new twenty scenic spots in 1997. Renowned for its towering and elegant beauty, Wulao Peak is situated at the back entrance of Nanputuo Temple. Most tourists visit Nanputuo Temple or the Botanical Garden in conjunction with Wulao Peak.
There are numerous viewing platforms along the path from the base to the summit, offering panoramic views of Xiamen and opportunities for photography. From higher vantage points, one can see all the buildings of Xiamen University and Gulangyu Island.Halfway up Wulao Peak, there is a temple called Doushituo Court, which was built during the tenure of Master Zhuanfeng as the abbot of Nanputuo Temple. Deep within, one can find acacia trees planted throughout Wulao Peak. The peak is open to visitors year-round from 06:30 to 18:00.
