Dadeji Bathing Beach is located next to Haoyue Garden on Gulangyu Island. Following the steps down from the Dadeji sign on Guanhai Road, one arrives at a clean bay of sand and a pool of gray-green seawater. To the left, the lush woods of Haoyue Garden provide a verdant backdrop, while across the way, the high-rise buildings of Xiamen and the Zhongzhai Bay Bridge seem almost within reach. To the right stands the lifelike Lion Mountain, with some clean reefs scattered around, truly living up to its reputation as the ‘beautiful seaside bathing beach.’ Due to the abundance of trees, by past one o’clock in the afternoon, the beach offers plenty of shaded spots, making it an ideal seaside destination for swimming in the summer. The beach is open all year round and accessible 24/7.
