The entire exterior architecture of Xinglin Academy is based on the style of “Yuelu Academy”. It is a three – entry compound quadrangle. The academy is mainly designed around the three functions of “sacrifice, collection of books, and lectures”. There are a total of 16 scenic spots, mainly including the Bell and Drum Pavilion, the Lecture Hall, the Library Building, Kuixing Pavilion, and the Study.
