Li Zhi’s Former Residence – A Cultural Heritage Site in Quanzhou

Li Zhi’s former residence is located at Wan Shou Road, Nan Men, Li Cheng District, Quanzhou, and it was the place where the outstanding thinker Li Zhi lived during his youth in the Ming Dynasty. His descendants later converted his living quarters into an ancestral hall. Originally a typical civilian house with three bays and two depths, only the front room and the main hall are now preserved. The main hall measures 6 meters in width and 9 meters in depth, with a courtyard in front. It has been restored according to the traditional Minnan residential style and is now a memorial hall. In recent years, it has been refurbished, with a portrait of Li Zhi hanging inside for visitors to admire. The site is open all year round from 8:00 to 17:30.
