The museum covers an area of 11,482 square meters and has a construction area of 30,718 square meters. It consists of five buildings: Gongchen Tower (main building), Chunhua Building (east building), Qiurong Building (west building), East Que Tower, and West Que Tower.
There are nine halls in the museum, including two special exhibition halls on the Forbidden City, Shimao Treasures Exhibition Hall, Maritime Silk Road Exhibition Hall, Digital Exhibition Hall of the Map of Silk Road Landscape, Special Exhibition Hall, Multi-functional Lecture Hall, and two VIP halls. At the same time, it is equipped with facilities such as Cao Wu Space, Cultural and Creative Space, Cultural Relic Warehouse, Visitor Center, Police Liaison Point, Underground Parking Lot, and Bus Terminal.


Throughout the year, various types of exhibitions, educational and cultural exchange activities are held, providing open services to create a new landmark for inheriting Chinese culture, a new window for international display and exchange, and a new highland for promoting the civilization of the Maritime Silk Road.



Opening hours: It is open from 09:00 – 17:30, Tuesday – Sunday throughout the year; closed all day on Monday throughout the year; open from 09:00 – 17:30 on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Tomb-Sweeping Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day.
