Fulu Mountain is about five li southwest of Longtian Town. There were temples on Fulu Mountain during the Northern Song Dynasty. It has experienced several rises and falls. During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, there were still old monasteries on the mountain. The existing remaining Fulu Temple was founded under the auspices of Grand Secretary Ye Xianggao in the 42nd year of the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1614).
Fulu Temple began to decline at the end of the Qing Dynasty. Due to the chaos of warlords’ scuffles and ineffective protection of places of historic interest and scenic beauty, the secluded scenery was gradually damaged, and the temple was often burglarized.

With the sponsorship of the believers in Longtian Town and nearby villages, Monk Shisheng solicited donations to rebuild the temple and erected steles to commend the donors. The steles still exist today.

During the “Cultural Revolution”, the doors, windows, rafters, columns, bricks and tiles of the Buddhist temple were stolen, and the bronze Buddhas, iron immortals and bronze bells were smashed and sold. All the remaining trees were cut down.

The current Fulu Temple was rebuilt in 2004, basically following the appearance at that time. It is open from 8:00 – 17:30 throughout the year.
