The Aotai River is 2.52 kilometers long. In the Tang Dynasty, it was the moat of Fuzhou City. After the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, it became an inland river.
The Aotai River semi-surrounds the west and south of the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys. In the section parallel to Guanglu Lane and Jibi Alley and extending to Zizhu Alley, stone bridges, old houses, and ancient trees are densely distributed, presenting a strong style of the water towns in the south of the Yangtze River.

Beautiful weeping willows and big banyan trees with thick aerial roots add another kind of charm.
