Hip Hop Bao Pu, established on May 16, 2008, is a comedy troupe based on the traditional Chinese cross-talk (xiangsheng) group of the same name. While promoting traditional Chinese cross-talk, the organization also engages in cultural activities such as quyi (Chinese folk art forms) and drama productions. Under the leadership of its founder, Gao Xiaopan, Hip Hop Bao Pu now boasts nearly a hundred cross-talk performers and a professional operations team.

Since its inception, Hip Hop Bao Pu has continued to grow and currently operates two small theaters in Beijing: Jiaodaokou Theater and Wukesong Theater, hosting nearly 2,000 cross-talk performances annually. Their performance videos have garnered high viewership on multiple video platforms, including iQiyi, Tencent, and Toutiao. The troupe has participated in numerous major TV programs and performances, such as the 2015 CCTV Spring Festival Gala, “Happy Comedians,” “I Am a Scholar,” “Laughing Material Stew,” “Weekend Joyful Gathering,” “Lu Yu You Yue,” “Cross-border Comedy King,” and “Newcomers in Cross-talk.”
