The China Watermelon Museum is the first museum in China dedicated to showcasing the culture of watermelons. It is located in Panggezhuang Town, Daxing District, Beijing, and stands as a signature building with distinct characteristics in the Green Sea Sweet Garden. The museum’s exterior design, themed ‘Flying Watermelon,’ features a grand central rotunda resembling a giant watermelon, with the two main exhibition hall roofs resembling watermelon leaves, like wings ready to take flight. The entire structure is modern and elegant, sophisticated yet dynamic, with a harmonious color scheme and rich cultural depth. This is the only watermelon museum of its kind both domestically and internationally.

The exhibition area spans over 300 square meters, housing more than 300 images, exhibits, and texts, using both ancient and modern presentation techniques and layout styles to weave together the long history, sentimental stories, and profound culture of watermelons. The museum displays over 200 varieties of watermelons, many with unusual shapes such as gourd, ingot, and square, and colors ranging from the common green to yellow, white, black, and Tang tri-color.

The museum is open from 09:00 to 16:30 all year round; from 09:00 to 16:00 for preferential policies. Additional information on preferential policies: 1. Children under 1.2 meters (not including) and holders of military officer and senior citizen cards enter for free. 2.
