Haidian Theatre boasts a grand hall with a seating capacity of 980 and two luxurious smaller halls, each accommodating 120 spectators, with comprehensive facilities. The main stage is equipped with an orchestra pit, a lift stage, a sound canopy, and a band platform, meeting the diverse demands of ballet, opera, drama, traditional Chinese opera, song and dance, variety arts, and symphony concerts.
‘Avenue Q’ made its Broadway debut in 2003, breaking away from the trend of ‘big production + luxurious sets’ in contemporary Broadway musicals. It achieved tremendous success by relying solely on its humorous and humanistic storyline and its light and pleasant music. In 2004, ‘Avenue Q’ defeated numerous big productions to win the prestigious Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Book of a Musical. It then set a remarkable record by running for six years on Broadway, with over 2500 performances. In the nearly ten years that followed, ‘Avenue Q’ was translated into more than ten language versions and performed worldwide, reaching dozens of countries and regions across five continents, and its popularity remains undiminished to this day.
