The Changping District Museum is located in Hongwen Pavilion, Changping Park, Changping District. Established in 1988, the museum has a construction area of 1300 square meters and a display area of 300 square meters. The museum building is a two-story structure. From May 1988, preparations for the establishment and display arrangement of the museum began, and it officially opened in September of the same year, launching its first exhibition ‘The Ten-Year Reform Achievements Exhibition of Changping County’.

The exhibition showcased the reform achievements of Changping people in various fields since the 11th Central Committee of the Communist Party’s Third Plenary Session, using a large number of physical objects, images, and statistical figures. In 1989, the ‘Changping County Unearthed Cultural Relics Exhibition’ was held, displaying more than 140 pieces from the unearthed cultural relics of Changping over the years, making it one of the museum’s fixed exhibitions with a focus on the local evolution of Changping’s unearthed relics.

From May 1990 to March 1991, the museum introduced the ‘Exhibition on the Life and Deeds of Comrade Li Dazhao’ from the Capital Museum. In 1999, Changping County Museum was renamed to Changping District Museum.

Opening hours are from 08:30 to 16:30 every Monday throughout the year.
