Yuyuan, situated in the northeast corner of Zhongshan Park in Beijing, showcases an architectural style that is distinctly national. The layout is balanced and symmetrical along a central axis.
At the forefront and center of Yuyuan stands an octagonal pavilion, adorned with a double-eaved blue glazed tile roof. To the east, there is a square pavilion featuring a single-eaved cylindrical tile roof. Similarly, to the west, a rectangular pavilion also sports a single-eaved cylindrical tile roof.
Connecting these three pavilions is a unique corridor that has 38-and-a-half sides. Along this corridor, there are 34 goldfish exhibition windows, each equipped with glass tanks that allow tourists to appreciate the beauty of goldfish up close.
