The Lin Zexu Former Residence, also known as Fuzhou New Hall, was established in 1816, during the 21st year of the Jiaqing era of the Qing Dynasty. It was originally a hometown association hall, jointly purchased by Lin Zexu and other Fujian-born officials residing in Beijing.
