This scenic area is named after White Snake Valley and Green Snake Ditch, the places where White Snake and Green Snake ‘became immortals’ in the folk story ‘Legend of the White Snake’. Inside the scenic area, there are strange peaks, secluded valleys, lush vegetation, quiet forests, and fresh air. Climbing General Ridge in the valley, you can see the全貌 of Phoenix Tower and Taiping Stronghold ancient Great Wall.

In White Snake Valley, you can examine the natural wonders where White Snake and Green Snake transformed into human forms. This place is renowned for its majestic mountains, perilous cliffs, beautiful forests, and secluded caves. There are many charming natural landscapes and remains of the ancient Great Wall such as Shenlong Waterfall, Cool Valley, natural stone wall mural, suspended stone, small First Line Sky, White Snake Cave, Hundred Steps of Peril, Yuzhu Peak, Wangmaoding Mountain.

In order to absorb the sunshine, rain, and essence of the sun and moon in the north, the two snakes came to ‘White Snake Valley’ and ‘Green Snake Ditch’ deep in Yanshan Mountains to cultivate. Finally, they attained immortality and transformed into human forms. Later, after White Snake and Green Snake returned to the south.

White Snake was suppressed under Leifeng Pagoda by Fahai because of ‘flooding Jinshan Temple’. After being rescued by Green Snake, in order to avoid Fahai’s entanglement, the two sisters returned to ‘White Snake Valley’ and ‘Green Snake Ditch’ deep in Yanshan Mountains in the north and lived here forever. White Snake transformed into a vivid snake-shaped fossil in ‘White Snake Cave’. Green Snake transformed into snake bark trees nearby and they are always together.

The intangible cultural heritage – the mythical story of ‘Legend of the White Snake’ has been passed down for thousands of years. According to legend, ‘White Snake Valley’ on the north side of Huangyaguan Ancient Great Wall in Jixian County, Tianjin, was originally the place where White Snake and Green Snake cultivated to become immortals. There are still many vivid relics such as ‘White Snake Valley’, ‘White Snake Cave’, ‘snake-shaped karst stone statue’, ‘Green Snake Ditch’, ‘snake bark tree’, and ‘snake head cliff’.

The landscape is rare and amazing. Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:00 to 17:00. Preferential policies: Children: Children under 1.2 meters (excluding) are free; children from 1.2 meters (including) to 1.4 meters (including) are eligible for discounted tickets.
