There are three main docks connecting Chongming Island to Shanghai: Nanmen, Xinhe, and Baozhen. Among them, Baozhen Dock is located at the southern tip of the island. The waiting room at the dock was constructed in the late 1970s and was considered quite impressive along the Yangtze River basin. It is open all year round, with 24-hour access.
