The Jialing River is a major tributary of the Yangtze River, originating from Mount Daiwang in Feng County, Shaanxi Province, on the northern slope of the Qinling Mountains, and named after the Jialing Valley in the northeast of Feng County through which it flows.
The main stream passes through Shaanxi, Gansu, Sichuan, and Chongqing, eventually merging into the Yangtze River at Chaotianmen in Chongqing.

The main tributaries include the Badu River, the Western Han River, the Qujiang River, and the Fu River, among others.


The total length of the Jialing River is 1345 kilometers, with a main stream basin area of approximately 39,200 square kilometers and a total basin area of about 160,000 square kilometers. It is the second longest tributary of the Yangtze River after the Yalong River and has the second largest flow after the Min River.


It is open to the public all year round, accessible 24 hours a day.
