Chi Lin Nunnery, established in 1936, covers an area of over 30,000 square meters and is oriented northward facing the sea with its back to the mountains. For over 60 years, it has been dedicated to elderly care, education, social welfare, and religious and cultural affairs. In 1989, to meet the changing needs of the social environment, a comprehensive reconstruction was carried out, leading to the construction of an elderly home, a grand auditorium, an open-air theater, a Buddhist temple complex, a park, and a special skills training secondary school.

The nunnery is a wooden architectural complex designed in the style of the Tang Dynasty art, with a clear layout and buildings distributed along the central axis in a primary and secondary manner, including the Mahavira Hall and the fragrant lotus flower park. It is open to the public from 9:00 to 16:30 all year round and offers accessible facilities with barrier-free entrances.
