A long white rope passes through a pulley, encircling the body, distinctly connecting the artist’s movements on the ground and in the air. Like the mast and sail of a sailing ship, the performers pull and swing each other, creating astonishing images and breathtaking dynamics. Each acrobat’s movement affects and entangles the others, forming an intoxicating, interwoven web of cause and effect.
‘One-Strike Acrobatic Troupe – Life Hangs by a Thread’ showcases the rich visual effects brought by outstanding Australian circus artists through innovative aerial acrobatics. On stage, the interactions among team members mimic our everyday human relationships. The acrobatic performance team serves as a tool to explore the concepts of risk and trust, creating an intimate audience experience about the inherent dangers and joys in interacting with others.
