Sha Tin Pass was once an essential route between Kowloon and Sha Tin. The Sha Tin Pass Road was constructed by the British military in the 19th century. However, with the opening of the Kowloon-Canton Railway in the early 20th century and the completion of Tai Po Road, the passage through Sha Tin Pass gradually faded. On the other hand, Section 5 of the MacLehose Trail and Section 4 of the Wilson Trail both pass through this area. Open all year round, accessible 24/7, with specific business hours subject to daily opening conditions.
