Every Mid-Autumn Festival, the streets of Tai Hang are extremely lively due to the Fire Dragon Dance. This tradition can be traced back to the 19th century. At that time, residents used fire dragons filled with incense sticks to drive away epidemics. This spirit of unity has been passed down to this day. The 67-meter-long fire dragon is led by 300 athletes and shuttles through the streets and alleys of Tai Hang.
It is bound to attract many citizens and tourists to come and watch, feel the charm of this national intangible cultural heritage and experience the precious Hong Kong tradition. The Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance performance will be moved to Victoria Park at 10:30 pm on September 17. Opening hours are from September 16 to September 18.
