When you come to Victoria Peak, in addition to enjoying the scenery at the observation deck, you can also try walking around Victoria Peak to observe different scenery of Hong Kong Island. The Summit Circular Walk is an easy hiking trail. Some sections even have a century-old ‘plank road’. Walking on it, you can enjoy a commanding view of Hong Kong’s beautiful and charming urban landscape.
The starting point of the Summit Circular Walk is Lugard Road next to the Peak Tower. Lugard Road was built between 1913 and 1914 and is named after Sir Frederick Lugard, the 14th governor of Hong Kong. Some sections are ‘plank roads’. After walking along Lugard Road for 20 minutes, you will reach the Lugard Road viewing spot. The magnificent panoramic view of Victoria Harbour will unfold before your eyes! This place is as beautiful as a painting, and you can take good photos easily!

Next to Lugard Road is Harlech Road. Walking along here, you can return to the Peak Tower and complete the journey of the Summit Circular Walk. Harlech Road is lined with trees. It is about 15 minutes from the end. There is even a waterfall on the section below Austin Hill Playground, with pleasant scenery. The whole Harlech Road is flat and easy to walk. Many people love jogging here. If time and physical strength permit, you can take the route from the peak to Pok Fu Lam Reservoir to fully appreciate two different landscapes from the city to the dense jungle.

Opening hours: Open all year round and all day.

Service facilities: Barrier-free access.

Must-see tips: If you start walking 90 minutes before sunset, you can consider walking in the opposite direction along the Summit Circular Walk to experience different but equally beautiful scenery.
