‘Evolution’ is a contemporary performance experience that transcends musical genres, media, and cultures. An international team of artists comes together in this performance project to create an unforgettable and visually and aurally stunning experience, showcasing the essence of evolution and the transformative power of art.
‘Evolution’ is the culmination of years of transcontinental cooperation between two contemporary percussion units: the Grammy Award-winning quartet – Third Coast Percussion Ensemble (USA) and the sound art team – Percussion X (Hong Kong), along with award-winning dancer Martha Seager (Hong Kong) for creation and performance. The program will also feature music by Hong Kong, China composer Ye Haokun and American composers JLin and David Skidmore. JLin’s work ‘Perspective’ was once a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Music.
Through contemporary dance art, percussion rhythms, and innovative stage design, ‘Evolution’ aims to lead the audience into a realm without boundaries and full of possibilities.
