Avalokitesvara Lotus Garden, commonly known as the Avalokitesvara Statue by the local residents, is one of the Sino-Portuguese friendship memorials located on an artificial island opposite Sun Yat-sen Avenue. The garden was cast by the Morning Light Group and consists of 47 individual pieces assembled on-site.
The lotus throne of the Avalokitesvara Lotus Garden is divided into two levels. The first level features a viewing room with a reception desk and a souvenir shop selling books, albums, and souvenirs published by the Cultural Bureau. The lower level houses a multifunctional exhibition hall and a small library. The library includes a multimedia resource center with two computers offering internet access. It boasts a collection of over 600 religious books in various languages, along with CDs, audiotapes, and videotapes related to religious culture.
The multifunctional exhibition hall can accommodate up to fifty people, making it suitable for small events. The garden is open all year round from Monday to Thursday and Saturday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00. It is closed all day on Fridays, with specific business hours subject to daily opening conditions.
