Nanwan Park, also known as Gaslan Garden, is divided into two distinct sections: the lower part is located between Nanwan Street and Jialatang Street; the upper part is further divided into two levels connected by stone steps, situated between Jialatang Street Barracks Alley, Gaslan New Road, and Dongwangyang New Street. The upper section of Nanwan Garden is at the foot of Dongyang Mountain, featuring a quite unique cylindrical building, two stories high, which serves as the World War I Memorial for fallen Portuguese soldiers.

The memorial has arched doors and windows on all sides, with circular patterns sculpted on the walls, and a crown-shaped decoration at the top, which is eye-catching. It has now been transformed into an association for the disabled. Opening hours are all year round, with full-day service. Accessibility facilities include barrier-free entrance.
