E’xianling Ecological and Cultural Tourism Area is located in Donghe Town, Dongfang City, Hainan Province. It is adjacent to the ‘Daguangba’ reservoir, the second largest artificial lake on Hainan Island. It is an important part of Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park. It has a relatively intact original tropical rainforest of karst landform preserved in its native state in Hainan, and has the reputation of ‘Little Guilin in the East’.
There are abundant tourism resources and human elements around and inside the scenic area:
1. The scenic area leans against the Daguangba by the Changhua River. The rare lake-type reservoir in the region provides rich fish resources for people on both sides of the strait.
2. Here is the site of the Xiaoguangba Hydropower Station, one of the earliest in China. It is a historical witness to Japan’s invasion and plundering of our ancestors’ resources. A scenic area with red genes can provide more learning materials and creative inspiration for academic enthusiasts.
3. In the domestic rare rainforest karst landform scenic area, tourists can not only overlook the Nine Peaks of E’niang and the dreamlike E’xian Bay, but also personally explore and observe 1,409 tropical plants and nearly a hundred tropical limestone specialized species and 59 terrestrial shellfish species in the park.
4. Various stalactites, stalagmites and stone pillars in the E’niang Cave and the meandering and charming karst waterfall form a unique cave wonder.
5. The scenic area has rich cultural heritage of the Li ethnic group.Every year, the traditional festival of March 3rd of the Meifu Li ethnic tribe draws tens of thousands of tourists who come to visit and experience the unique cultural event.
E’xianling is a scenic area that blends the wonders of mountains and waters with scientific research and exploration, as well as the rich history and human charm of the region. The total planned area of the scenic area spans 80.49 square kilometers, with the first-phase development covering 1.15 square kilometers, including a core area of 1,665.41 mu. This area encompasses a variety of tourism resources, such as green mountains, beautiful waters, strange caves, beautiful forests, and the customs of the Li ethnic group. It has developed distinctive landscapes like ‘one mountain’ (E’xianling), ‘one cave’ (E’niang Cave), and ‘one waterfall’ (E’niang Stream). Visitors can also enjoy the rainforest marvels of ‘E’xian Dreamland’, ‘Lanxi Flower Valley’, ‘Butterfly Path’, and ‘Millennium Immortal Lizard’, as well as the tropical karst landscapes with exquisite craftsmanship, such as ‘E’niang Welcoming Guests’, ‘Phoenix Flying Together’, and ‘Colorful Jade Pond’, all of which are waiting to be discovered.
The scenic area is open all year round, with operating hours from 08:30 to 18:30.
In terms of preferential policies, children under 1.2 meters (including 1.2 meters) and under 6 years old (including 6 years old) can enter the park for free with valid identification such as household registration books. Children aged 6 (excluding) to 18 (including) can purchase half-price tickets with appropriate certificates, and the battery car is purchased at the regular price.The elderly:
– Elderly people aged 70 (including) and above can enter the park for free with their valid certificates and only need to purchase a round-trip sightseeing bus ticket for 32 yuan/person.
– Elderly people aged 60 and above can purchase half-price tickets for 24 yuan/person with certificates, and the battery car is purchased for 32 yuan/person.
