Wenchang Song’s Ancestral Residence is located on a hill surrounded by fruit trees. It is shaded by green trees and the environment is quiet. Song Qingling’s great-grandfather, grandfather, and great-grandfather all lived here for three generations. Her father was born in this ancestral residence in 1861. Later, the Qingling Exhibition Hall and the Song Qingling Botanical Garden were successively built here.
A white marble statue of Song Qingling with a total height of 3.2 meters was erected to the north of the ancestral residence. The current ancestral residence is a traditional local farmhouse courtyard, consisting of two main rooms, two side rooms, two gatehouses and courtyard walls. The exhibition hall is located here. It is a courtyard-style ancient building. The hall displays historical materials, photos, charts, paintings, imitation objects, etc. about Song Qingling’s youth, her engagement in the cause of world peace during the revolutionary war years, and the deep nostalgia of people from all walks of life at home and abroad for her.
