Xiuying Fort is located behind Xiuying Village on the north side of Haixiu Road, Longhua District. It is an ancient and grand military facility. Built in 1891 (the seventeenth year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty), it consists of five gun emplacements: Gongbei, Zhendong, Dingxi, Zhenwu, and Zhenwei. Arranged in a straight line from east to west, it is about 241 meters long. The gun ports all face north towards the sea. Surrounded by solid city walls on all sides, there is a large playground of 6,867 square meters in the middle. The entire fort and its affiliated buildings cover an area of about 33,000 square meters. It is open from 08:00 to 18:00 all year round.
