Dengyun Tower, also known as ‘Wild Goose Pagoda Mocking the Wind,’ is one of the ‘Eight Scenic Spots’ in Xuwen. It is located at the intersection of Dongfang Yi Road and Minzhu Road in Xucheng Town, Xuwen County, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. The foundation was laid by Xuwen County Magistrate Zhao Yihe in the 43rd year of the Wanli era (1615), and the tower was completed in the third year of the Tianqi era (1623) by Magistrate Ying Shiyu.
The ancients metaphorically referred to Dengyun Tower as ‘writing brush,’ symbolizing the people of Xuwen’s aspiration for producing numerous talents and achieving rapid success. The opening hours are subject to the daily operating status.
