The Bamboo Garden is one of the scenic spots in the West Lake Scenic Area of Hangzhou. It is located to the west of Yue Fei’s Tomb. It was formerly known as Hushan Chunshe and was built by Li Wei, the governor of Zhejiang Province in the Qing Dynasty. The garden name was inscribed by the Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty. There are buildings such as Liushang, Linhuafang, and Jujinglou. The Bamboo Garden covers an area of more than 10,000 square meters. It mainly features bamboo landscapes. It leads the trickling water from Qixia Ridge and piles up rocks. There are pavilions and corridors built by the lake. There is also a bonsai garden and the corridor and pavilion of the Twelve Flower Gods. The Jiangnan Strange Stone Garden is also here. It is famous for gathering strange stones. One of the three major strange stones in Jiangnan, the Wrinkled Cloud Peak, has also been moved here. This stone is 2.6 meters high and only 0.4 meters at its narrow waist. It has an elegant posture, is exquisitely carved and translucent. It is as famous as the Guanyun Peak in the Lingering Garden in Suzhou and the Exquisite Peak in the Yu Garden in Shanghai. Open all day from January 1st to December 31st.
