The China Seal Engraving Museum is the first professional seal engraving museum in China that integrates literature collection, cultural relics display and academic exchanges, which is prepared by Xiling Seal Engravers Society. It was originally the former residence of Du Yuesheng. At the southern foot of Gushan Mountain and by the Xiling Bridge, a two-story building with Chinese and Western styles is hidden among the lush greenery. It has double eaves and upturned corners, and a corridor surrounding the platform building. On the west side of the main entrance stands a huge white marble seal with a dragon knob measuring 4.2 meters high. The side inscription is seven characters ‘China Seal Engraving Museum’ inscribed by Zhao Puchu, the late president of Xiling Seal Engravers Society, Buddhist scholar and calligrapher. There are five exhibition halls in the museum, namely the Exhibition Hall of Seals of Past Dynasties, the Exhibition Hall of Seal Schools, the Exhibition Hall of Seal Materials, the Exhibition Hall of Seal Engraving Studies and the Exhibition Hall of the History of Xiling Seal Engravers Society. Here, you can learn a lot of knowledge about Chinese seal engraving culture. As a symbol of authority and proof in the past, Chinese seal cutting art has evolved for more than 3,700 years. It is not easy to be preserved until now and is worth seeing.
