The ancient Qingbo Gate is one of the ten ancient city gates in Hangzhou. It is located southeast by the lake and takes the meaning of ‘clear waves’. There are many historical sites around Qingbo Gate. Historically, it was a place where poets, scholars, and painters lived. Also, because the gate leads to the south mountain and citizens’ firewood was mostly transported in through this gate, there is a folk song ‘Firewood carriers outside Qingbo Gate’. Later, Qingbo Gate was demolished. To let future generations understand the changes of the city wall, a monument was erected at the original site. The opening hours and specific business status are subject to the opening situation on that day.
