The former residence of Gai Jiaotian is located on Zhaogong Embankment by West Lake in Hangzhou. Also known as Yannan Jilu. It was purchased and constructed by Gai Jiaotian, a Peking Opera performing artist, in the 1930s.
The former residence is composed of buildings such as the entrance hall, main hall, back hall, left and right wing rooms, and Buddhist hall. It maintains the typical architectural style of Jiangnan dwellings with green tiles and white walls.
There are more than 200 relics of Gai Jiaotian during his lifetime on display in the former residence, showing his artistic career and achievements.
