The architectural layout of the Music Platform is the first of its kind in China. It is located to the south of Zhongshan Square and was built in 1932. The entire plane is semicircular and has a reinforced concrete structure. In the center of the circle is the stage, with an area of nearly 250 square meters. Behind the stage is a large curved screen wall, which is of the same principle as the Echo Wall in Beijing and is used to gather sound waves.
The wall is 11.3 meters high and 16.7 meters wide, and is faced with artificial cement stones. In front of the stage is a crescent-shaped lotus pond with a hidden spring at the bottom. In front of the pond is a semicircular lawn, which is a place for the audience to enjoy singing and dancing and can accommodate 3,000 spectators. Around the platform are green grass, weeping willows and towering poplars.Opening hours: Open from 06:30 to 18:30 from February 1st to November 30th; open from 07:00 to 17:30 from December 1st to January 31st.
