Linghu Scenic Area is a large park located in Anqing City, encompassing Linghu Park, Lianhu Park, Wanjiang Park, and Anqing Cultural Square. The central lake surface of the park is composed of five lakes: Linghu, Lianhu, Xiaolinghu, Donghu, and Xihu, with Donghu and Xihu collectively known as the Great Lake. During summer, the lake is adorned with blooming lotus flowers, which is a major attraction of the park. Citizens often visit the park for walks and exercise. Anqing residents have a fondness for Huangmei Opera, and it is not uncommon to see elderly people singing for their own entertainment. Students from the adjacent Anqing Normal University also add a vibrant touch to the scenery as they stroll through the park.

Linghu Park is situated at the southwest corner of the scenic area, with Anqing Normal University’s main campus to its west. Within the park, visitors can explore the Deng Shiru Stele Pavilion and the Memorial Hall for Huangmei Opera performer Yan Fengying. Families with children can visit the Children’s Playground and Anqing City Zoo, where the amusement facilities require an additional fee.

Lianhu Park is located to the east of Linghu Park, separated by the lake’s heart road. The park features a statue of Wu Liangzhu, who sacrificed himself during the flood relief efforts in 1998. Lianhu Park boasts excellent lighting facilities, making its nightscape quite spectacular.

Wanjiang Park is positioned to the north of Linghu and Lianhu Parks, with the three parks arranged in a ‘pin’ formation. At the center of Wanjiang Park is the oval-shaped Wanjiang Square. The park also includes the Anhui China Huangmei Opera Museum and the Anqing City Information Exhibition Hall for visitors to explore. There are artificial beaches along the lake for those who wish to get close to the water.

Anqing Cultural Square is located to the north of the scenic area, facing the three parks across the lake. Wooden water-close platforms have been built along the lake shore, providing another place to get close to the lake. The entire area is open all year round, with full-day access.
