The eastern coast of the scenic area is characterized by its steep cliffs and precipices, which seem to have been carved by a knife and an axe, towering thousands of feet above the sea. This natural rock sculpture gallery, stretching for thousands of meters over the water, is a unique sight in the country and has earned the title of “China’s First Sea Screen.” It features lifelike screens such as the Wind-Facing Screen, Red Elephant Screen, Drum Wave Screen, and Peacock Screen, as well as formations like Fisherman Sailing, Golden Seal, Shrimp General Rock, and Black Dragon Soaring Over the Sea. These comprise four screens and eighteen scenes in total. Boating while watching the waves, listening to the surf, and enjoying the scenery is an extraordinary experience.
In March 2010, the Wenzhou-Kaohsiung cross-strait Banping Mountain Tourism and Cultural Exchange event was held here. Participants shared the same strait water and planted acacia trees together, with a monument inscribed “Same Origin, Same Root.” The operating hours are from April 1st to October 18th, 08:00-17:30, and from October 19th to March 31st, 08:00-17:00.
