The couplet on the pillars is “Famous all over the world at Sancha Crossing, and astonishing masterpiece at Shizipo.”. Behind the pavilion is the tomb. This is the self-built tomb of Gai Jiaotian, a famous master of Peking Opera. It was destroyed in the late 1960s and rebuilt in 1985. Gai Jiaotian, originally named Zhang Yingjie, is from Baoding, Hebei Province. He is an outstanding Peking Opera performing artist and has created a unique “Gai School” performing art.
