Baizhang Pond, set amidst the lush greenery of Pan’an County, is nestled approximately 32 kilometers from Anwen Town. Renowned for its cascading waterfalls, serene pond waters, and tranquil streams, the scenic area unfolds as a three-tiered waterfall spectacle. The water plunges dramatically down steep cliffs, eventually pooling into the Qiyu Pond. The interconnected and tiered nature of the waterfalls creates a unique structure, with each level adding to the visual grandeur.
During the rainy seasons, the waterfalls become even more spectacular, and the summer visits are particularly refreshing. The scenic area’s layout thoughtfully circles around the central stream, making for an easy and enjoyable walk. Upon entering, you encounter a corridor bridge where an electric cart service is available to whisk you to the Wukeng resting area on the left for a small fee of 10 yuan per ride. However, for a more fulfilling experience, it is recommended to walk counterclockwise up the mountain and then take the cart back down to avoid the steep incline.
As you stroll towards the Beaded Curtain Waterfall on the right, the path is gentle and gradually ascends, revealing a series of waterfalls that grow more stunning with each step, promising a journey of continuous discovery and delight.
Continuing along the trail, you are accompanied by the soothing sounds of streams and the rustling of bamboo forests, creating a tranquil atmosphere. After passing by Longtan Lake and Xiankui Waterfall, you reach the high point, the Waterfall Viewing Pavilion. From this vantage point, you are greeted with a breathtaking view of the classic Baizhang Pond, Wolong Pond, and Qiyu Pond. The panorama of waterfalls and deep ponds is a sight to behold, making Baizhang Pond a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and those seeking a respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life.Embarking on your journey, you have the option to traverse the Jinli Ancient Path downhill, which will lead you to the Wukeng Resting Corridor. This is an ideal spot to take a breather before boarding the electric cart that will whisk you back to the exit. The path itself is characterized by its steep and rugged terrain, with sparse points of interest, making the descent a less challenging endeavor.
Dining options within the scenic area are limited; however, just beyond the parking lot, you’ll find a handful of small eateries where you can satiate your hunger. Given the brief duration of your stay, it might also be wise to pack some snacks for the journey. The scenic area welcomes visitors year-round, with operating hours from 08:00 to 16:00.
