Rong Design Library, situated in Wuchang, Yuhang, officially welcomed visitors in the summer of 2015. This non-profit organization dedicates all its income to the library’s basic operations.
The library is meticulously divided into four distinct sections, with the Traditional Chinese Materials Library standing out as a must-visit. Here, the focus is not merely on the display of handicrafts, but rather on the deconstruction of traditional crafts and the organization of various materials. For instance, the creation of oil paper umbrellas is dissected into 13 distinct materials, providing a deeper understanding beyond the umbrella itself. This includes components such as umbrella ribs, paper pasting, and threading, which serve as valuable references for contemporary designers.
Beyond the Traditional Chinese Materials Library, the Rong Design Library also boasts a design book area, a design concept store, and a design exhibition space. The entire venue is imbued with a strong sense of design, making it an ideal destination for those with a passion for art and craftsmanship. We encourage you to visit and explore this unique space.
The library operates from Tuesday to Sunday, with opening hours from 09:00 to 12:00 and 13:30 to 18:00 throughout the year. It remains closed all day on Mondays, with specific business status subject to the day’s opening conditions.
