The Chongqing Steel Mill Site is located in Dadukou District, Chongqing City. This large steel plant, with a history of over 120 years, traces its origins back to the ‘Hanyang Iron Works’ established by Zhang Zhidong, the Governor-General of Huguang, in 1890. Walking through the old factory area, one can still sense the heavy industrial atmosphere. Although the noisy workshops are now a thing of the past, some of the factory buildings and machinery are still preserved.
