Shilin Temple is located in Tiaodeng Town, Dadukou District, Chongqing City. It was enlarged by the venerable monk Shengke in the early Qing Dynasty and later became his hermitage where he attained Nirvana. The existing structures include the top and base of a pagoda. The temple is open daily from 08:00 to 18:00, all year round (1/1-12/31).
