The Asia Building was completed in 1913. Before 1966,亚细亚火油公司, a subsidiary of British Shell and Royal Dutch Petroleum, rented the ground floor of this building for a long time. In 1996, the headquarters of China Pacific Insurance Company has been located here ever since. The building faces Zhongshan East Road No.1 in the east and Yan’an East Road in the south. The facades on the east and south are almost the same.
It is in a longitudinal three-section style. The first and second floors and the fifth to seventh floors adopt the double colonnade in the Ionic style of ancient Greece. The building as a whole is in neoclassical style. At the entrance is a large and deep circular gable cornice with Baroque architectural style. Open all year round and all day.
