The church was originally constructed in the ninth year of the Tongzhi Emperor’s reign (1870), was destroyed in the Gengzi year (1900), and was reconstructed in the 31st year of the Guangxu Emperor’s reign (1905). It covers an area of approximately 13.3 mu, with the existing area being 4,300 square meters.

The main structure is the worship hall, flanked by two Western-style spired bell towers. Yaohang Street Catholic Church is one of the larger venues for Catholic activities in Ningbo City.

The church measures 51 meters in length from north to south and 22 meters in width from east to west. The ridge of the main hall is 31 meters high, and the bell towers reach 66 meters. The top is crowned with a stainless steel cross that is 6 meters high and 4 meters wide. The church floor plan is cruciform and is integrated with the second floor of the priest’s building, allowing the church to accommodate up to two thousand people (with a thousand seats).

The main entrance of the church is made of granite, and the church hall’s floor is decorated with granite. All doors and windows of the church are made of stained glass, with the round window at the top of the hall featuring various symbols of the Holy Eucharist, and the church doors and windows are adorned with biblical stories.

The semi-circular arch at the top of the altar, covering an area of eighty square meters, is painted with the image of the Holy Trinity crowning the Virgin Mary, supported by five smaller semi-circular arches, symbolizing the unity and solidarity of the Church.

Opening hours are from 8:00 to 18:30 all year round.
