The Tiantai Museum is located next to the Guoqing Temple scenic area. It covers an area of 17,400 square meters and has a building area of more than 5,900 square meters. It was designed by the Architectural Design Institute of Tsinghua University. The museum buildings are well-proportioned, built according to the terrain, with winding paths leading to secluded spots. It integrates modern architectural concepts and has distinct local cultural characteristics and a flavor of the times. The entire museum is divided into two parts: the exhibition area and the management area. The exhibition area has five exhibition halls. The management area has a cultural relics warehouse, office, reference room, conference room, cultural relic restoration room, audio-visual room and expert building. According to functions, it is divided into archaeology, cultural relic protection, mass work, storage, exhibition design, cultural relic restoration, security and other work. The museum has a rich variety and large number of cultural relic specimens in its collection. There are currently more than 6,000 collections. Among them, there are many precious cultural relics of the first, second and third grades. The collections are divided into ceramics, bronzes, calligraphy and paintings, ancient books and sundries, etc., which can comprehensively reflect the historical and cultural characteristics of Tiantai Mountain. It has extremely high scientific values such as history, culture and art.
