In addition to the three major temples on Mount Putuo, many small temples were also built between the Ming and Qing dynasties and are habitually called nunneries. Xianghui Nunnery is located in Qingshi Bay, east of Feisha’ao. During the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, monk Guangyu rebuilt it on the abandoned site of the old Changhui Nunnery. In the autumn of 1892 (the eighteenth year of Guangxu), monk Huachi renovated it. After 1960, it became a residential area. In 1988, the Buddhist Association exchanged houses and took it back for renovation. The building area is 890.92 square meters, and there are 32 rooms including halls. There are still some residential areas awaiting vacating. Opening hours: Open from 8:00 to 18:00 all year round.
