Da Bei Zen Temple is the second largest hermitage on Mount Luojia, housing a Crystal Palace within its grounds. It is said that the Bodhisattva often appears here, and believers witness different visions based on their karmic connections, which is quite miraculous.

Inside the Crystal Palace, there is a spring with a clear and sweet sound, known as one of the three sacred springs of Putuo, alongside the Lingyou Cave in Mei Fu Hermitage and the Fairy Well beneath Chaoyang Cave.

The main hall of the temple is the Yuantong Bao Hall, which enshrines the statue of the Thousand-Armed Avalokitesvara, symbolizing the Bodhisattva’s benevolent heart to fulfill the needs and desires of all sentient beings.

To the east of the temple, there is a cliff with a stone-carved statue of Guanyin. Guanyin stands on a lotus platform, holding a tilted pure vase. Miraculously, the mouth of the vase always drips clear spring water, never drying up in drought, nor overflowing in flood, maintaining a constant drip rate, with sweet water that is more refreshing than nectar.
