Xiangyun Tent

图片描述

Xiangyun Road, approximately 3 li in length, stretches from Fayu Temple to Huiji Temple. In the past, this path was primarily used for carrying firewood and was known for its steep and rugged terrain. Believers often made the arduous journey to the summit of the Buddha, stopping to worship every three steps along the way.

In 1904, stone steps were constructed, totaling 1,087, making the ascent more manageable. The route boasts stunning scenery. As one traverses Xiangyun Road to the mountain’s midpoint, they encounter the Xiangyun Pavilion. Adjacent to the pavilion lies the Xiangyun Tent, a tranquil and distinctive retreat. The pink walls are complemented by an intricately carved railing that lines the promenade, leading to several serene ponds and meandering paths that wind to secluded spots, offering a perfect respite for tourists during their climb.

Each year, during the three major incense fair periods, pious men and women make their pilgrimage to the peak of Foding Mountain, following the tradition of worshiping every three steps on this sacred path. The site is accessible throughout the year, with no restrictions on visiting hours.
