At the Spring Festival Gala in 2022, a dream that transcends a thousand years and spans mountains and rivers – ‘Only This Cyan’ – astonished the audience. This is a painting that magically aligns with the aesthetics of both ancient people from a thousand years ago and modern people. Its charm that spans across time and appeals to both the refined and the common is truly captivating! It is a landscape scroll painted by the talented young man Xi Meng, who was only 18 years old at the end of the Northern Song Dynasty, in just half a year. These seemingly distant and profound cultures appear in a new language, form, and medium, making one unforgettable at first glance.
The dance poem ‘Only This Cyan’ adopts the genre of ‘poetic drama’ and is structured around chapters such as ‘Unfurling the Scroll’, ‘Inquiring the Seal’, ‘Singing of Silk’, ‘Seeking Stone’, ‘Learning the Brush’, ‘Tempering the Ink’, and ‘Entering the Painting’. The audience will follow the perspective of a modern Palace Museum researcher – the Scroll Unfolder – and immerse themselves in the legendary traditional Chinese aesthetic interests.
As a poetic drama, it carries strong poetic sentiments and dramatic plots and scenes. Its poetic nature and intense lyricism provide readers with a broad space for artistic reinterpretation. ‘Dance Poem’ is a comprehensive stage presentation that uses dance as a vocabulary and the poetic expression of the body to create a realm where ‘silence is more powerful than sound’.
The entire performance is open from December 25th to 27th, Wednesday to Friday, starting at 19:30, subject to the live performance schedule.强制约束:
